NEW YORK, U.S. – U.S. Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump on June 22 staged a blistering attack on his political rival Hillary Clinton, calling her the most corrupt person in history to be running for the country’s presidency.
According to reports, Trump was delivering a speech to a room full of supporters at his hotel in New York.
Trump, who fired his campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on June 20, called Clinton a “world-class liar.”
He said that Clinton has “perfected the politics of personal profit” and “doesn’t have the temperament… or the judgment to be president.”
He reportedly slammed Hillary Clinton and former U.S. president Bill Clinton for taking money from Saudi Arabia and other countries which criminalise homosexuality.
He said that if Clinton becomes president, she will be influenced by lobbyists, CEOs and foreign governments. Adding that, “They totally own her and that will never, ever change.”
Commenting on Clinton’s tenure as the Secretary of State, Trump said, “Her decisions spread death, destruction and terrorism… one deadly foreign policy decision after another.”
He added that she would let Muslims enter the country who want to “enslave women” and “put gays to death.”
Reports indicate that Trump also said that Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy was partly responsible for the rise of Islamic State.
He reportedly said, “The Hillary Clinton foreign policy has cost America thousands of lives and trillions of dollars – and unleashed ISIS across the world. No secretary of state has been more wrong, more often and in more places than Hillary Clinton. Her decisions spread death, destruction and terrorism everywhere she touched.”
According to reports, Trump also made an appeal to Bernie Sanders’ supporters.
He said, “The insiders wrote the rules of the game to keep themselves in power and in the money. That’s why we’re asking Bernie Sanders’ voters to join our movement so together we can fix the system for all Americans. Importantly, this includes fixing all of our many disastrous trade deals.”
Reacting to Trump’s speech, Clinton spokesman Glen Caplin said, “The only thing Donald Trump offered today was more hypocritical lies and nutty conspiracy theories.”
Trump has, in recent days, come under fire over his reaction to the Orlando shooting and racist comments about a Mexican-American judge.
